This March, you might already be ready to see a lot of beaming graduates in togas and families booking their next summer getaway. But that's not just what's in store this month! This article lists events in Bacolod that will have you meeting and having fun with like-minded people, like a birthday celebration for K-pop celebrities, a calligraphy tutorial, a cupsleeve and charity event, and a music festival in the mountains featuring local artists. 1. SOPE: The Duo Cupsleeve Event in Bacolod

Where: Builtea, O Residences, Lacson Street, Bacolod City
When: March 14, 2020

SOPE: The Duo Cupsleeve Event is a fun-filled birthday celebration for BTS K-pop stars Suga and Jhope. It will be held at Builtea, the first store in Bacolod where you can create your own milk tea! Attendees of the event will receive freebies like photocards, banners, photo strips, glittered cup sleeves, and a large drink from Builtea. If you add PhP40, you can avail of the store's “build your own milk tea” promo.

How to get to Builtea: From City Mall Mandalagan, cross the street and hop on a Mandalagan-Libertad Jeepney. Then, get off in front of the O Residences building beside Robinsons Place Mandalagan. Enter the building and walk towards the last store to your left to find the entrance of Builtea.


2. Bacolod Basic Pointed Pen Calligraphy Workshop

Where: Arendo Coworking Space, Roli's Arcade, La Salle Ave., Bacolod City
When: March 21, 2020
Ticket price: PhP2,000

How to get to Arendo Coworking Space: From South Ceres Terminal, cross the street and hop on a Shopping La Salle-Libertad jeepney. Get off at Roli’s Arcade building along La Salle Avenue and cross the street to reach the building. You can find Arendo on the ground floor of Roli’s Arcade.


3. 'Xiuweet Time' Cupsleeve and Charity Event

Where: Swirls San Agustin Branch, Vision Square Building, Corner 21st Street and San Agustin Drive, Bacolod City
When: March 22, 2020

Fans of Kim Minseok, also known as Xiumin of K-pop band EXO, will have a celebration for his birthday at Swirls! Hosted by Youniverse Bacolod, Xiuweet Time is not only a fun gathering for the EXO fans but also an event with a cause, as proceeds will go to the host's chosen charity. For only PhP20, you can get photocards, stickers, bookmark, banner, cup sleeve, and a raffle entry. Swirls' ice cream, however, is on your tab.

How to get to Swirls San Agustin Branch: If you are along the University of St. La Salle, take a San Agustin-Libertad PUV. Ask the driver to drop you off at the back of Bob’s Restaurant along San Agustin Drive. Once you get off, you will see the iMart San Agustin Branch located on the ground floor of the Vision Square Building. You can find Swirls San Agustin Branch located beside iMart.


4. Camp Zion 2020: Midsummer Madness

Where: Kampo Hiyang-Hiyang, Sitio Campuestohan, Barangay Cabatangan, Talisay City
When: March 28-29, 2020
Ticket prices:
PhP400 (with free shuttle)

Pack up your tents and camping essentials, because Camp Zion 2020: Midsummer Madness will give you a night full of good music and company! A handful of local artists and music bands will showcase their tunes under the night sky while attendees gather around a big bonfire. Artists from Dumaguete like Wilfreedo and ODD will also come to Kampo Hiyang-Hiyang to serenade Bacolodnons.

Tip for a better experience: Participants of the event are encouraged to bring their own garbage bags, utensils, and tents. Slots are limited, so you purchase tickets early.



How to get to the event: There will be a shuttle service for all attendees. To get to the pick-up point, find a Mandalagan-Libertad PUV bound north or Lacson Street from Bacolod Public Plaza. Ask the driver to drop you off at the South Capitol Road in Lagoon and find the sign that says Camp Zion Shuttle Service.
