The Jacksons’ return to Metro Manila after 44 years will have you “Shake Your Body” and “Blame It On The Boogie.” The American pop band consisting of Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, and Marlon Jackson rose to fame in the 1960s. One of their previous members is the late great Michael Jackson, who served as the band's lead vocalist before venturing on a solo career. Some of The Jacksons' memorable songs are “I Want You Back,” “ABC,” and “I’ll Be There.” Tickets are available in TicketNet outlets and TicketNet online.

Tip for a good experience: It is not indicated if the seats are for free seating or reservation. Contact TicketNet for clarification if you want good seats. If it’s free seating, come early to secure your ideal seat within your ticket section.

How to get to Smart Araneta Coliseum: Take an LRT-2 train and alight at the Araneta Center-Cubao Terminal Station. Exit the station and walk in the direction of Gateway Mall and pass through the red gate. Araneta Coliseum is near Farmers Market. It is the dome-shaped building.

2. Ruel Free Time World Tour Manila

When: March 12, 2020; 8:00 PM
Where: Music Museum Greenhills Shopping Center, San Juan City
Prices:
PhP1,800 Balcony
PhP2,800 Orchestra

With his husky voice and boyish charms reminiscent of '90s-era Leonardo Di Caprio, Ruel sure has the “It" factor. After touring with Shawn Mendes in 2019, Ruel has gotten a bigger fan base. A year later, he is venturing on his own world tour, and Manila is lucky to be a part of it. You can catch the cute crooner performing his songs “Not Thinkin’ Bout You,” “Younger,” “Dazed and Confused,” and “Painkiller” this March. Tickets are available at TicketWorld outlets and TicketWorld online.

Tips for a good experience: Music Museum is within Greenhills Shopping Center, which means it can be hard to find a parking spot. Arrive early to secure better spots. Also, be mindful that pay parking along San Juan is prohibited.

How to get to the Music Museum: Take the MRT-3 up to the Ortigas Station. Walk towards Robinsons Galleria and ride a jeep heading to San Juan or any RRCG/G Liner bus en route to Quiapo. Get off at Greenhills.

Emo kids, rejoice: The long wait is over! Manila will be part of Jimmy Eat World’s Asia Tour this March 12. This will be the band’s first time in Metro Manila. The band behind the hit “The Middle” will be promoting their 10th studio album, Surviving, during their tour. Expect classics such as “Sweetness,” “Pain,” "Hear You Me,” and a few singles from their most recent album. Tickets are available at TicketNet outlets and TicketNet online.

Tip for a good experience: Before attending the event, make sure to check prohibited items. Gadgets and accessories such as tablets and selfie sticks or tripods are frequently not allowed. Backpacks are also not allowed so bring a small bag for your essentials.

4. Stereolab Live in Manila

When: March 13, 2020; 8:00 PM
Where: Samsung Hall SM Aura
Price: PhP3,500 Standing General Admission

Just like Jimmy Eat World, Stereolab is another band that will be performing in Manila this month. Considered as one of the iconic avant pop bands in the early 2000s, Stereolab is known for their experimental sound. Manila will be part of the group’s comeback tour after reuniting in 2019—10 years after their hiatus in 2009. Some hits from the band include “French Disko,” “Super Electric,” “John Cage Bubble Gum,” and “Metronomic Underground.” Tickets are available in SM Tickets outlets and SM Tickets online.

Tip for a good experience: Refrain from bringing children below 4 years old since most venues do not allow them.

How to get to Samsung Hall: Ride the MRT-3 to Ayala Station. Take a BGC East Route bus and alight at the Market! Market! bus station. SM Aura is just beside the station, and Samsung Hall is the dome-shaped area located at the rooftop of the mall.

5. Yungblud Live in Manila: Twisted Tales of the Ritalin Club Tour

When: March 20, 2020; 8:00 PM
Where: Skydome, SM City North EDSA
Price: PhP4,500

It seems like March is a great time for rock lovers as another rock sensation, Yungblud, will also be coming to Manila. The 22-year-old is known for his highly energetic songs such as “Parents,” “Hope For The Underrated Youth,” and “Medication.” For those who are unfamiliar with the British singer, he has also collaborated with Halsey for “11 Minutes.” This will be Yungblud's first time in Manila after exploding into the music scene in 2018. Tickets are available at SM Tickets outlets and SM Tickets online.

Tip for a good experience: If you shopped before watching the concert, you can deposit your bags at the baggage counter.

How to get to SM SkyDome: Take the MRT-3 then get off at the North Avenue Station. Since the station is directly linked to Trinoma, you can use the connecting bridge way between Trinoma and SM North EDSA. The SM Skydome is the visible dome-shaped building at the area.

6. Go West 3D Live

When: March 26, 2020; 8:00 PM
Where: Newport Performing Arts Theater Resorts World Manila
Prices:
PhP2,000 Price Zone 6
PhP3,800 Price Zone 5
PhP5,500 Price Zone 4
PhP7,000 Price Zone 3
PhP8,000 Price Zone 2
PhP9,500 Price Zone 1

Those who grew up during the late '80s and '90s can remember the pop duo Go West because of their countless hits such as “We Close Our Eyes” and “Call Me.” But those who are younger might be familiar with their 1990 hit “King of Wishful Thinking,” which was included in the Pretty Woman soundtrack. Go West is already familiar with their Filipino fans since the pop sensations have been in the country in 2011 and 2015. Tickets are available at TicketWorld outlets and TicketWorld online.

Tip for a good experience: New Frontier’s website has a “view from seat” feature which can help you better choose the seat you want before booking.

How to get to Newport Performing Arts Theatre at Resorts World Manila: Take the MRT-3 and get off at Taft Avenue station then go down the stairs at the northbound side of the station. Turn left into a passageway next to Mcdonald’s and look for a Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 shuttle commuter bus.

7. Slipknot Live in Manila

When: March 29, 2020; 7:00 PM
Where: Amoranto Sports Complex Quezon City
Prices:
PhP2,220 White Zone
PhP5,550 Black Zone
PhP6,660 Red Zone

Long-time fans of the metal band Slipknot will always remember the band’s supposed first concert in Manila in 2004 which was cancelled due to security concerns. 15 years later, metalheads can now finally watch the Grammy-winning band perform their chart-toppers such as “Before I Forget,” “Psychosocial,” and “Duality.” Slipknot is known for their impressive instrumentals and energetic performances, but they are also remembered for the haunting masks they wear on stage.

Tip for a good experience: The Amoranto Stadium is an outdoor venue. Bring a raincoat in case it rains. Check if it’s allowed to bring water so you can stay hydrated.

How to go to Amoranto Sports Complex: Ride a Cubao bound bus or the MRT-3 to Araneta-Center Cubao terminal station. Don’t ride any bus or jeep with “Cubao Ilalim” sign. Ask the driver to drop you off at Aurora Boulevard. From Aurora Boulevard, climb the footbridge and walk towards SGT. J Carlos Street next to EDSA. Ride a jeep with “Roces Palengke Pantranco” sign. Tell the driver to drop you off at Amoranto Sports Complex Gate 1. Pay the minimum fare.

As March is a month of many firsts in the music scene, not only will you enjoy a night of music, but you will also become part of history. Miss these concerts in Metro Manila and you might have to wait for a long time again, so make sure to book tickets ASAP!
